Course Outline: 20th Century U.S. History This course will cover the history of the United States from the year 1900 to the present, during the year’s time. This course will require completion of approximately 12 tests during the year and a final exam at the conclusion of the course. There will be quiz grades, in class assignments, online assignments, homework as well as collaborative group projects assigned. A portfolio must also be compiled for the duration of the course. Grades will be averaged on the total points system. Each student will also be assigned an email account through G mail for use on course assignments.
Course Outline: Advanced U.S. History This course will cover the events of the United States from just before the Civil War to present during the year’s time. The course will require the completion of approximately 16 tests as well as a final exam at the end of the course. There will also be frequent homework, in-class assignments and quiz grades as well as virtual presentations and activities as well as collaborative group projects. A portfolio will be kept for the entire year. Grades will be averaged on the total points system. Each student will also be assigned an email account through G mail for use on course assignments.
Grading Scale: 90-100 A 80-90 B 70-80 C 60-70 D 0-59 F Grading Policy: Nine weeks grades will be tabulated on the total points system. This is calculated by dividing the total points possible for the term by the number of points earned by the individual. Final course grades will be the average of the four nine week’s grades in a year long course and a final exam.
Attendance policy: If an individual is not in class for any reason other than a school-related absence or excused absence, they will not receive the points for that day or be allowed to make up assignments. If an absence is excused the missed work must be turned in no later than the number of days missed late to be counted for full credit. Late assignments will only be accepted for five class days after the due date at reduced credit, after that the grade will be entered as a zero.
Hall Policy:
Students will be given hall passes in their agenda book for each semester to be used for restroom, drink, and locker passes. Beyond these, only emergencies will be allowed to leave the room. Only two tardies are excused during each nine weeks beyond these there will be discipline issued through the office.
